Rittal GmbH & Co. KG has recognized the need for battery lifecycle solutions. Together with Eplan and German Edge Cloud, the company is showing at the Battery Show in Stuttgart what is important for the battery factory of the future. The demand for battery cells is growing rapidly, driven solely by electromobility. The EU is therefore planning to establish the production of battery cells in Europe, for which gigafactories are needed. Prerequisite for product development, production and operation of batteries: networked and digitized ecosystems – in lloT solutions, mechanical and plant engineering, IT infrastructures, automation and smart services.
End-to-end networking sets the course
Batteries go through a complex life cycle. Rittal GmbH & Co. KG, together with Eplan and German Edge Cloud (GEC), will show how it supports users throughout the entire battery life cycle. And on the other hand, how they support companies both in product development and in setting up production and in the operation and use of battery storage – through end-to-end networking of ecosystems and processes.
Joint solution from Rittal and Eplan.
Rittal and Eplan support their customers not only with the product, but also with digital solutions for plant construction and operation, as well as with system technology and automation solutions. Control and switchgear manufacturers benefit from consistent workflows throughout the entire value chain. On the one hand, Eplan software is a proven standard for the engineering of electrical components of machines.
On the other hand, in conjunction with automation solutions and control cabinet system technology from Rittal, it ensures greater efficiency in control and switchgear construction. When it comes to plant operation, the same applies as for smart manufacturing processes: With ePocket – the digital circuit diagram pocket – Rittal shows how the “lifecycle file” of switchgear and controlgear comes into the cloud.
Users can easily access the system documentation and its digital twin via a QR code on the control cabinet. In the event of a fault or conversion, plant managers and maintenance personnel have data quickly at hand, full transparency and can make precise decisions more quickly.
Rittal GmbH & Co. KG offers comprehensive portfolio
Rittal GmbH & Co. KG has the right system solution for every energy storage application when batteries are in operation. The spectrum of the Rittal modular system is extensive. It ranges from container, enclosure and cabinet solutions to climate control and power distribution technology, software tools and project planning and design services.
Tesvolt’s new battery storage system will demonstrate at the Battery Show how sustainable and smart energy storage systems work and can be commissioned safely. It is integrated into a VX25 control cabinet system from Rittal. Together, the two companies have developed a new ventilation and cooling concept.
