BORG Automotive Reman, Europe’s leading independent remanufacturer, has been nominated by a renowned expert jury for the Automechanika Innovation Awards 2024 in two categories. The company has qualified as a finalist in the areas of “E-Mobility & Innovative Drive Technologies” and “AI & Digitalization”.
BORG Automotive Reman nominated for innovative data capture system
BORG Automotive Reman has been nominated in the “AI & Digitalization” category for their new data capture system, currently in the pilot phase. This system allows for the reading of a used part’s product label using a camera, automatically identifying the corresponding number, and transferring it to the ERP system. As a result, processing and integration times are reduced, and data quality is improved.
BORG Automotive Reman has been recognized in the category of “E-Mobility & Innovative Drive Technologies” for their comprehensive end-to-end reconditioning process for a belt-driven 48V starter generator (BSG). This technology is widely used in modern cars with mild hybrid systems. The process includes an electronic module diagnosis and an enhanced end-of-line testing procedure, ensuring that the reconditioned part meets the highest quality standards.
Grzegorz PawÅowski, Group Technology Director at BORG Automotive Reman, emphasizes the challenges in reconditioning modern vehicle parts due to the increasing complexity and importance of digital technologies and electronic controls. He highlights that only a few remanufacturers possess the ability to restore modern parts to a like-new condition. BORG Automotive Reman, with its in-house research and development center, has consistently demonstrated its expertise in building the necessary know-how. Their latest achievement lies in the field of belt-driven 48V starter generators, showcasing their commitment to staying at the forefront of technological innovations in the automotive industry.
By being nominated in two categories, BORG Automotive Reman has become an official “Nominee” for outstanding technological innovations in the competition. The winners will be announced at a special ceremony at Automechanika on September 10, 2024.
Grzegorz PawÅowski expresses confidence and anticipation for the announcement of the winners.
