The AN/ALQ-257 Integrated Viper Electronic Warfare Suite (IVEWS) has successfully completed the U.S. Air Force tests at the J-PRIMES facility. The IVEWS underwent a comprehensive assessment of complex threats in the radio frequency spectrum and demonstrated its capability to detect, identify, and counter advanced high-frequency threats. It also demonstrated its ability to seamlessly integrate with other F-16 systems. With this successful test, the AN/ALQ-257 IVEWS is now ready to undergo flight testing in Air Force F-16 aircraft.

Successful J-PRIMES tests confirm maturity of AN/ALQ-257 IVEWS

Colonel Michael Rigoni, Director of F-16 International Electronic Warfare Systems, expressed his confidence in the J-PRIMES tests, stating that they represent the culmination of three years of extensive IVEWS system testing by the U.S. government. He believes that the upcoming flight tests will yield positive results for operational evaluation and looks forward to witnessing the continued development of this important capability for F-16 operators worldwide.

James Conroy, Vice President of Navigation, Targeting, and Survivability at Northrop Grumman, expressed his satisfaction with the successful completion of the J-PRIMES tests. These tests, which included multiple IDAL events, flight demonstrations on a surrogate platform, and LIVE Closed-Loop tests, validate the maturity of IVEWS and its readiness to protect both US and international F-16 fleets. This achievement highlights the effectiveness of IVEWS in enhancing the electronic warfare capabilities of the F-16.
