Beckhoff’s introduction of a new generation of EtherCAT analog terminals in a compact HD housing raises the bar for IP20 I/O performance. These seven terminals offer a wide range of applications with an attractive price-performance ratio and significantly improved performance. The terminals allow for individual configuration of inputs and outputs for current or voltage operation, and support sensor values at the limit range as well as evaluation according to NAMUR NE43. With higher resolution and the ability to use up to eight channels, these terminals can meet the requirements of various applications.

Beckhoff introduces EL4374, a high-performance analog I/O module

The EL4374 is the first clamp in the new generation of analog clamps, offering combined input and output functionality. With a conversion rate of 2 kSps per channel, it features two inputs and two outputs that can be individually parameterized for current or voltage operation using TwinCAT. The clamp supports a technical measurement range of ±107% of the nominal range, allowing for startup with sensor values at the limit and evaluation according to NAMUR NE43. The outputs can provide up to 107% of the nominal value, with a high output power allowing for a load of up to 750 Ω at 20 mA.

The EL3072 and EL3074 analog input terminals offer the same features as the EL4374, but with an improved 16-bit resolution compared to the previous 12-bit versions. The EL3072 has two individually parameterizable inputs, while the EL3074 offers four such inputs. In addition to these two terminals, there is also the EL3078, which even allows for eight channels in the same compact HD housing. The higher resolution and the expansion to eight channels were also implemented for the EL4072, EL4074, and EL4078 analog output terminals.

The new generation of Beckhoff EtherCAT analog terminals offers numerous benefits to automation enthusiasts. With improved performance, a wide range of applications, and an attractive price-performance ratio, these terminals are an ideal solution for various automation projects. The ability to individually configure the inputs and outputs for either current or voltage operation, as well as support for sensor values in the boundary range and evaluation according to NAMUR NE43, provides additional flexibility and functionality. The higher resolution and the option to use up to eight channels allow for meeting the requirements of diverse applications.

Overall, the new generation of EtherCAT analog terminals from Beckhoff represents a significant improvement and provides automation enthusiasts with the opportunity to make their projects more efficient and powerful. These terminals offer a wide range of benefits, including improved performance, a broader application spectrum, and an attractive price-performance ratio. With the ability to individually configure inputs and outputs for current or voltage operation, as well as support for sensor values at the limit range and evaluation according to NAMUR NE43, these terminals offer added flexibility and functionality. Additionally, the higher resolution and the option to use up to eight channels allow for meeting the requirements of various applications.
