Continental’s participation in TOC Europe 2023 in Rotterdam was a significant event for the company. As an exhibitor at one of the largest annual trade fairs for port, ship and terminal technology, Continental had the opportunity to address its guiding theme of “Smart Port – Better Flow”. The technology company’s latest ideas and offers for digital fleet management and future-oriented tyre solutions were presented to an interested trade audience.

At the show, Continental presented its advanced tyre solutions for Smart Ports, which provide support for port operators to stay ahead of the latest industry trends. By monitoring and analysing vehicle routes, environmental influences and the condition of the tyres, Continental offers its customers individual advice. This can optimise operating costs while promoting more efficient and sustainable operations in international ports. The high level of interest shown by trade fair visitors in Continental’s solutions reflects the growing need in the industry for digital tyre management solutions.
New sensors with Bluetooth technology inspire visitors at the trade fair stand
Visitors to the show had the opportunity to experience the advanced tyre management system ContiConnect 2.0 and the brand new generation of sensors live on site. Continental recently announced the launch of the new Bluetooth-enabled sensors, which allow fleet managers and drivers to retrieve tyre data directly from mobile devices such as smartphones on the vehicle and transfer it to the web portal. This innovative technology makes tyre monitoring and analysis more seamless and effective, resulting in improved performance and safety.
Under the new system, each tyre is assigned a digital twin linked to a unique item number. This enables the fleet manager to always keep track of which tyre is on which vehicle and at which wheel position. In addition, the system offers the possibility to document the tread depth of the tyres directly in the system.
ContiConnect 2.0 from Chew is an effective solution to minimise service interruptions due to tyre problems. Using this advanced technology ensures that tyres are always in optimal condition, increasing both safety and tyre life. The integration of the collected tyre data into software solutions for the entire fleet management system is already in the starting blocks and will soon make our vision for the future a reality.
