0

The Tailorlux GmbH in collaboration with the Kunststoff-Zentrum SKZ has been awarded the ZIM funding for their research project “KIMaTex”. The project aims to develop a portable and location-independent analysis tool that combines spectroscopic technologies, artificial intelligence, and smartphones. This tool will enable real-time analysis of chemical compositions and surface structures of textiles.

KIMaTex: A Handheld Device for Analyzing Textile Composition

The KIMaTex system is a compact device that combines various technologies to provide precise material analysis. It includes two spectrometers for chemical analysis, a smartphone camera for surface feature detection, and AI-powered data processing. Through a cloud platform, the system offers a “Drop-In AI” feature, allowing users to employ specific AI models for tailored inquiries. This project contributes to closing information gaps in the textile value chain and advancing the goals of a circular economy.

Innovative KIMaTex System Enhances Sustainable Textile Production and Recycling

The development of the KIMaTex system represents a significant advancement towards sustainable textile production and recycling. By utilizing this system, companies can effectively sort textile waste, thereby increasing recycling rates. Moreover, the versatility of the device extends beyond the textile industry, making it applicable to other sectors such as plastics and rubber. This innovative solution contributes to a more circular economy and promotes environmental conservation.

Tailorlux GmbH and SKZ collaborate on innovative textile project

The Tailorlux GmbH is excited about collaborating with SKZ on this visionary project. The goal is to create a user-friendly, cost-efficient, and sustainable system that can be used throughout the entire textile value chain. The project aims to be completed by 2027 and introduce a device to the market that delivers high-quality results while remaining affordable.

Tailorlux and SKZ Develop Innovative Mobile Analysis Tool for Textile Industry

The KIMaTex project, developed by Tailorlux GmbH and Kunststoff-Zentrum SKZ, introduces an innovative solution for the textile industry. This mobile analysis tool combines spectroscopic technologies, artificial intelligence, and smartphones to enable precise and user-friendly material analysis. By doing so, it significantly contributes to sustainability and addresses information gaps in the textile value chain.
